July is the month

July is the month FH become a real Ocean Rowing team!

We travel down to Rannoch Adventure Ltd. on July 18th to pick up, our yet to be named, Ocean rocket!

More on that later……

Plenty of other updates to feast your eyes on first! Exciting news on the Coaching front! We are super fortunate to have Duncan Roy onboard (pun intended). Dunc is the best in his field at turning ocean rowers in to highly competitive and highly capable teams, many of which have gone on to break World Records, of which he has plenty to his own name! We first spoke to Duncan last year and loved his enthusiasm and energy and we can’t wait to take to the water on the 22nd for our first session in the North Sea!

Kyle Love

We also have Kyle Love providing us regular beastings! Kyle is our S&C coach and has a pedigree in developing people’s physical capacity and mental resilience. He has been responsible for the selection course for one of the UK military’s most elite units and is also studying for a masters in Psychology. Armed with a tool box of skills and drills, he will no doubt make FH a more competitive team.

Our Yorkshire 3 Peaks Fundraiser is only a few weeks away and all spaces are filled! We can’t wait to see everyone and get out in the hills for some wholesome but testing phys! Followed by a great social and AXEMAN BBQ after! Our fundraisers are doing a great job! There is still time to donate - search GoFund Me ( Force Horizon 3 Peaks).

We are also knee deep in planning our Boat Launch, 27th Sept @ Doubletree Hilton hotel, Brayford Wharf, Lincoln! Tickets are now available, please get in touch if you would like to come! Guest speakers and raffles galore as well as a presentation…. and a first look at our shiny new boat!!

The purchase of this Boat has been several years in the making and it really would not be possible without our 250 club (big up yourselves) and our Sponsors DSC, SAMOTA, SPEK, AXEMAN BBQ and CCL Global! We can not wait to show you around our new shiny toy! We have fitted her up with some pretty fancy kit, all for the purpose of racing! Not to give too much away but additional Anemometers and weather data, providing we can interpret the info, will give us a racing edge as well as some more tactically placed ‘dials’ to allow for faster course correction. Unfortunately we didn’t have enough money to install the beer fridge but who knows what the future holds :).
